Defensive plants are crops that actively or passively protect your garden. Unlike normal crops, these plants don't just sit there — they fight back.
**Venus Fly Trap (11,000 Sheckles, S-Rare, Multi-Harvest)** — The premier defensive plant. Venus Fly Trap consumes intruders who get too close, effectively removing them from your garden for several seconds. It's expensive but worth every Sheckle if you grow high-value mutation crops. Best placed at the main entrance or near your most valuable plants.
**Dragon's Breath (3,400 Sheckles, S-Rare, Multi-Harvest)** — Fires projectiles at nearby thieves, causing them to drop fruit they've stolen from you. More affordable than Venus Fly Trap and still highly effective. The laser has decent range — plant it centrally so it covers multiple plots.
**Cactus (60 Sheckles, A-Rare, Multi-Harvest)** — Budget defensive plant. Damages any player who steps on it, reducing their health bar. Won't stop a determined thief by itself, but combined with other defenses it creates a painful gauntlet.
**Baby Cactus (70 Sheckles, A-Rare, Multi-Harvest)** — Similar to Cactus but smaller and slightly cheaper to maintain. Good filler crop for covering gaps in your defense grid.
**Poison Ivy (1,700 Sheckles, S-Rare, Multi-Harvest)** — Damages thieves over time with poison effect. Useful for wearing down intruders who linger in your garden. Combine with Cactus for a damage-over-time + instant damage combo.
**Ghost Pepper (2,500 Sheckles, S-Rare, Multi-Harvest)** — Primarily a high-value crop, but its value at 2,500 Sheckles makes it a theft magnet. Plant defensive plants near it if you grow it.
**Placement tip:** Don't cluster all your defensive plants in one spot. Spread them out so thieves can't avoid them by entering from a different angle. Place Venus Fly Trap or Dragon's Breath at the entry points, with Cactus/Baby Cactus lining the path to your high-value crops.
