Best Pets in Build A Ring Farm

Best Overall — T-Rex

T-Rex is the best overall pet because it combines the highest earning boost (12x-15.5x) with a guaranteed mutation upgrade timer. Since Update 3, T-Rex is a Divine-rarity pet available from the Dinosaur Egg. If you are already farming high-value crops, this is the pet that scales hardest into the end game.

Best Starfall Mutation Pet — Starfall Griffin

Starfall Griffin is a Divine-rarity pet with an 11x earning boost that can apply the rare Starfall mutation on a timer. Its passive stacks with other mutation effects, making it one of the best pets for endgame farms. It is only available through limited Robux shop offers.

Best Mutation Upgrade Pets — T-Rex, Kitsune, Hydra, Mammoth

T-Rex is the strongest mutation upgrade pet with a Divine-rarity guaranteed upgrade timer. Kitsune and Hydra are excellent RNG-based upgrade pets, and Mammoth is a weaker but still valuable mutation option. These pets matter most once your farm already has valuable seeds worth upgrading.

Best Time Skip Pet — Velociraptor

Velociraptor grants a 5-minute Time Skip roughly every 10 minutes. It does not directly increase crop value, but it speeds up the whole farm and is especially good during active sessions.

Best Growth Pets — Polar Bear, Gallimimus, Crocodile

Polar Bear and Gallimimus can fully grow random plants every 2 minutes, while Crocodile triggers more often with a lower chance. Use these when long grow timers are slowing down your farm.

Best Pet Support — Spinosaurus and Triceratops

Spinosaurus applies Strong Pet Treats, while Triceratops applies Normal Pet Treats. They are support pets: not always the flashiest pick, but useful when you are pushing pet progression.

Best Early Pets — Crocodile, Elephant, Capybara

Crocodile gives early growth acceleration, Elephant gives a steady crop yield boost, and Capybara helps seed luck. Replace Golden Retriever and Llama quickly unless you specifically need fertilizer or sprinkler support.

Best Non-Robux Target — Hydra or Mammoth

If you are avoiding Robux offers, keep chasing Epic Egg for Hydra or Mammoth. Hydra is the stronger target, while Mammoth is still useful if you need a mutation upgrade pet before landing a top-tier roll.

Pet Rarities

Common

Common pets are starter options. Golden Retriever provides Normal Fertilizer support, while Capybara gives a small Seed Luck boost. Replace them quickly once you unlock Rare or Epic eggs.

Uncommon

Uncommon pets add simple farm utility. Elephant boosts crop yield, and Llama boosts sprinkler power.

Rare

Rare pets are stronger early and mid-game picks. Crocodile can fully grow plants, and Gorilla applies Strong Fertilizer on a long timer.

Epic

Epic pets start to feel meaningfully strong. Polar Bear is excellent for growth acceleration, while Lion can apply Super Fertilizer.

Legendary

Legendary pets are strong long-term targets. Gallimimus and Mammoth add real late-game value.

Secret

Secret pets include some of the strongest rolls, such as Hydra, Spinosaurus, and Triceratops. These are end-game chase pets available from Epic Egg or Dinosaur Egg.

Prismatic

Prismatic pets include powerful special rolls like Kitsune and Velociraptor. They are rare and usually worth building a setup around.

Divine

Divine is the top rarity band, currently home to T-Rex (the best overall pet) and Starfall Griffin (a limited Starfall mutation pet). When new pets enter this band, compare their passive against T-Rex before assuming they are better.

How to Get Pets in Build A Ring Farm

Use the Egg Merchant

Visit the Egg Merchant on the outer garden edge. Buy an egg with in-game cash or Robux, then hatch it for a random pet. The Merchant has up to 5 slots that unlock as you spend. Stock rotates every 5 minutes.

Hatch from Dinosaur Egg (Robux)

The Dinosaur Egg costs 199 Robux and contains five dinosaur-themed pets: Gallimimus (52% chance), Triceratops (30%), Spinosaurus (15%), Velociraptor (2.5%), and T-Rex (0.5%). It is the only way to get the Divine-rarity T-Rex.

Buy More Egg Slots

Additional egg slots let you open more eggs at the same time. Slot 1 is free, Slot 2 costs $500M, Slot 3 costs $25B, Slot 4 costs $25T, and Slot 5 costs $1Qd.

Use Robux Egg Offers and Limited Stands

Some egg offers and garden stands can be purchased with Robux. Use these only if you are targeting a specific high-value pet and the current offer matches your setup. Starfall Griffin has appeared as a limited garden stand purchase.

Check Limited Rotations

Pools and egg availability can rotate with updates. Before spending, check which pets are currently obtainable in the Egg Merchant's current rotation.

Build A Ring Farm Eggs and Pet Sources

Common Egg - $25M

The starter egg. Contains only Capybara and Golden Retriever. Buy it only for your first pet, then move up.

Rare Egg - $25B

A six-pet pool with Llama, Elephant, Gorilla, Crocodile, Lion, and Polar Bear. Good when you want stronger utility pets.

Epic Egg - $10T

An eight-pet pool that includes everything from the Rare Egg plus Mammoth (Legendary) and Hydra (Secret). The best non-Robux egg for chasing high-tier pets.

Dinosaur Egg - 199 Robux

A Robux-only egg with five pets: Gallimimus (52%), Triceratops (30%), Spinosaurus (15%), Velociraptor (2.5%), and T-Rex (0.5%). Available in 3-pack (499 Robux) and 10-pack (1,499 Robux).

Robux Egg Offers and Limited Stands

Premium offers and garden stands can shortcut some pet hunting, but they are only worth it if the available pet helps your current goal.

Event and Update Eggs

Limited eggs can appear during updates or events. Always check current in-game availability before planning around a limited pet.

Pet Passive Abilities Explained

Mutation Upgrade

Upgrades a plant's mutation or gives a chance to upgrade one on a timer. Example pets: T-Rex, Kitsune, Hydra, Mammoth. Best for late-game profit.

Starfall Mutation

Applies the rare Starfall mutation to a plant on a timer. Example pet: Starfall Griffin. Stacks with other mutation effects for endgame farms.

Time Skip

Grants a time skip after a cooldown. Example pet: Velociraptor. Best for speeding up active farming sessions.

Fully Grow Plant

Gives a chance to fully grow a random plant. Example pets: Polar Bear, Gallimimus, Crocodile. Best for long grow timers.

Pet Treat

Applies pet treats on a timer. Example pets: Spinosaurus, Triceratops. Best for pet progression.

Fertilizer

Applies fertilizer automatically. Example pets: Lion, Gorilla, Golden Retriever. Best when you want passive growth support.

Crop Yield

Adds a crop yield multiplier. Example pet: Elephant. Best for early steady production.

Sprinkler Power

Boosts sprinkler power. Example pet: Llama. Best for sprinkler-focused setups.

Seed Luck

Adds a seed luck multiplier. Example pet: Capybara. Best for early seed rolling, but it falls off compared with stronger late-game pets.

How to Use Pets

Equip Pets for Your Current Goal

Use mutation pets when upgrading valuable crops, growth pets when timers are the bottleneck, and support pets when you are pushing pet progression.

Swap Instead of Forcing One Pet

A strong pet is only strong when its passive matches your activity. Velociraptor is great during active time-skip sessions, but T-Rex or Hydra is better when you care about mutation value.

Do Not Overinvest in Weak Starters

Golden Retriever, Llama, and Capybara can help early, but they are not long-term pets. Save serious resources for Divine, Prismatic, and strong Legendary pets.

Pet Upgrades and Level Cap

Leveling Priority

Upgrade pets you actually equip often. A leveled mutation pet is more useful than a leveled starter pet that sits unused.

Treat Support

Spinosaurus and Triceratops help pet progression through pet treats. Use them when improving your pet lineup is the priority.

Level Cap Planning

Public pet data points to Level 50 as the current cap. Exact scaling may change after updates, so avoid planning around a fixed long-term formula.

How Pets Work With Seeds, Mutations, and Sprays

Pets and Seeds

Pets do not replace good seeds. Strong pets are most valuable when paired with high-value seeds that are worth boosting.

View Seeds Table

Pets and Mutations

Mutation upgrade pets are strongest when your farm already has valuable mutations or high-rarity crops. Use T-Rex, Kitsune, Hydra, or Mammoth when mutation value is the goal.

View Mutations Guide

Pets and Sprays

Sprays can add strong mutation value, while pets can upgrade or support that setup over time. Do not waste expensive sprays on weak crops just because a pet is equipped.

FAQ

What is the best pet in Build A Ring Farm?

T-Rex is the best overall pet because it has the highest earning boost (12x-15.5x) and upgrades a plant's mutation every 300 seconds. Starfall Griffin, Kitsune, Hydra, and Velociraptor are also top-tier picks for specific setups.

How do you get pets in Build A Ring Farm?

Go to the Egg Merchant, buy an egg with cash or Robux, and hatch a random pet. Common, Rare, and Epic eggs cost cash. The Dinosaur Egg costs 199 Robux and contains T-Rex. Some pets like Starfall Griffin appear as limited-time garden stand purchases.

What is the best non-Robux pet?

Hydra and Mammoth are strong non-Robux targets from the Epic Egg. Hydra is the stronger target for mutation upgrades.

What is the Starfall Griffin?

Starfall Griffin is a Divine-rarity pet with an 11x earning boost that can apply the rare Starfall mutation to plants. It is available only through limited Robux shop offers.

What does Capybara do?

Capybara is a Common pet with a 1.22x earning boost and a 1.1x Seed Luck boost. It is useful early, but it falls off once you get stronger pets.

What does T-Rex do?

T-Rex is a Divine-rarity pet with a 12x-15.5x earning boost. Its passive upgrades a plant's mutation every 300 seconds, making it the strongest end-game pet. It is only available from the Dinosaur Egg (199 Robux).

What does Kitsune do?

Kitsune is a Prismatic pet with a 6x earning boost. It has a 15% chance every 5 minutes to upgrade a plant's mutation.

Can pets upgrade mutations?

Yes. T-Rex, Kitsune, Hydra, and Mammoth all interact with mutation upgrades. T-Rex is the strongest because its upgrade is timer-based rather than a low-chance roll.

Are pets better than sprays?

They do different jobs. Sprays apply mutation effects directly, while pets add passive boosts over time. The best setups use strong seeds, good mutations, and the right pet together.

What egg should I buy first?

Start with the Common Egg ($25M) if you have no pet. Once your farm can afford repeated rolls, move up to Rare Egg ($25B) for better utility pets, then Epic Egg ($10T) for access to Mammoth and Hydra.

Do pet passives stack?

Equipped pets can contribute different passives, but exact stacking depends on your current equip slots and game version. Build around the passives you can actually keep equipped.

How rare is T-Rex from the Dinosaur Egg?

T-Rex has approximately a 0.5% chance from the Dinosaur Egg. Other Dinosaur Egg pets have higher drop rates: Gallimimus 52%, Triceratops 30%, Spinosaurus 15%, Velociraptor 2.5%.
